Bibliographic Transition

The 6th "Metadata in libraries" day will take place on 3 December 2021 at BnF. It will deal with the Expression entity in the IFLA LRM model and the RDA-FR code and its interest for users. To attend the day on the BnF website, registration is required. To follow the day live via BnF's Youtube channel, you do not need to register.

Within the Standardisation group, the subgroup in charge of "Description of Events and Items" is calling for participation in order to increase its membership of local data specialists. Indeed, from 2022 onwards, the subgroup will begin work on the standardisation of items.
The French translation of the IFLA LRM model (produced by BnF) is now available on the IFLA website.

National licenses

Eighteenth Century Collections Online: the KBart file corresponding to access via the ISTEX platform is now available in the BACON National Knowledge Base. Beneficiary institutions will now be able to activate this collection (a must for eighteenth-century scholars) and enhance the value of permanent access via ISTEX.

The Sudoc coordinators must work on incorporating the new features into the BMS, and the Cataloguing Correspondents and cataloguers can discover the future fields before taking the training (with a two-part J.e-course to be offered in December). The test and exercise database at Sudoc already allows for practice in entering future fields.
RETROSPECTIVE REPORTING: the call for projects to promote the retrospective reporting of institutions' collections Sudoc is launched. Applications can be submitted until 17 December 2021.
DIGITAL LIBRARY OF THE BSG: the Sainte-Geneviève library presents Genofeva, its digital library (created with the Omeka-S tool), with more than 6,500 digitised documents, which can be consulted via a search engine or by thematic corpus.
