Postponement of the Days Abes 2021
|
In view of the uncertainties linked to the health situation in the coming months, and becauseAbes would like to ensure that they remain a time for meeting, sharing and face-to-face exchanges, the Abes 2021 Days, initially scheduled for May, have been postponed to 12 and 13 October 2021.

Bibliographic Transition
The "Training" group, which coordinates 4 national courses and leads a group of 25 trainers, is looking to recruit new members. The RDA-EN cataloguing code has just completed Section 1 with the publication of element 2.5 "Edition statement".

National licenses
EMBASE : as part of a CollEx-Persée / University of Paris co-financing,Abes is acquiring a national licence for the Embase bibliographic database for all French universities with a medical component.
|
EDP SCIENCES: for the 28 titles of this publisher, the years 2017 to 2019 are now available on the ISTEX platform. BACON now offers a Kbart file including all journals.
|
WILEY : access to Wiley journals (archives until 2016) on the publisher platform is extended until 31/12/21. BACON offers 2 separate Kbart files, one reporting titles via the publisher platform, the other via the ISTEX platform.
|
ISTEX 2021 DAY: proposed online on 19 January, the aim is to present the progress of the ISTEX platform, the services offered and the functionalities under development.

Single convention for CGs
TheAbes now proposes a single agreement for setting up and joining the permanent consortium. It aims to create a permanent grouping of orders for all electronic resource contracts carried out by theAbes, without any obligation for the signatory institution to participate in all of these contracts (it remains free to benefit from the contracts of its choice). Relations officers atAbes have been informed of this new feature, which will simplify the signature process. The Agency would like to thank the establishments that have agreed to test the system for one year.

Network IdRef
RAMEAU REFORM: instructions have been distributed to the network of cataloguers, via the lists. They concern the use of the Rameau authority records "History" and "History and criticism". Because it is important to know them, and because an email can quickly be buried in an email folder, all the instructions related to the Rameau reform are compiled and available in a single document, updated regularly.

CONSIGNMENT FOR THE A686 FIELD: until now the Methodological Guide only mentioned the use of this field in Rameau or FMeSH records. From now on, the GM specifies all cases of use of this field, used byAbes for data administration purposes, to mark the membership of a record to a specific corpus. The instruction for authority data producers is never to delete this field, if they encounter it.

Calames network
CALL FOR RECONVERSION PROJECTS:Abes contributes to the funding of archival and manuscript reporting operations. The call for projects 2021 is open: applications can be submitted until 15 January 2021.
|
CONSTITUTION OF THE CALAMES WG: after a call for applications from the network's institutions last October, the working group has been enlarged and now has 11 members, who are responsible for working on the guidelines set by theAbes and for providing feedback on users' needs.
|
pedagogical video: the CCFr inaugurates a cycle of presentation of its services to library professionals by means of pedagogical videos. The first one is dedicated to the articulation between TAPIR, CGM and CCFr. It also allows to situate Calames within the ecosystem of manuscript reporting

Sudoc network
WORLDCAT: The 92 institutions that have chosen the "Visibility of collections in WorldCat" service for the year 2021 must return a copy of the agreement, signed. The Relationship Officers atAbes are informed.
|
mBMS AND CONFINEMENT: Let's salute the transition to production, among others, of the SCD of the University of Savoie Mont Blanc, and of the SCD of the University of Poitiers, which have successfully completed their projects despite two successive confinements! Congratulations to the teams!

JSTOR : the exceptional opening, at the beginning of the health crisis, of access to 26 JSTOR journals (domain: health) expired on 31/12/20. The corresponding Kbart file has been deleted from Bacon.
|
LAVOISIER : the 4 masterlists of this editor have been labelled in BACON following the corrections he made, as well as the 3rd Kbart file designed and transmitted by Mir@bel. It lists all the accesses to the full text resources of their portal.
|
CONTINUING TRAINING FOR COORDINATORS: in 2019, it has been proposed to those establishments that wish to do so to develop the function of Coordinator Sudoc. Beyond the intention, what actions can this evolution translate into? An e-course is proposed on 28 January to provide some answers.
|
DISPLAY OF FUNCTION CODES: in WinIBW, function codes are now displayed with their title in plain text in bibliographic records, making it easier to check their relevance when re-reading the records.
|
ZOTERO CONNECTOR: the Zotero connector for the Sudoc catalogue has been repaired, it now allows the retrieval of sufficient metadata from a record or a batch of results to generate a correct bibliography. Thanks to Sylvain Machefert, from the SCD of the University Bordeaux Montaigne, who contributed to this enrichment.

RECIPROCITY FOR LIBRARY LENDING: every year, Barbara Bürgel, from the SCD of the Jean Monnet University, provides the network with the list of institutions practicing reciprocity. Thanks to her!

Sudoc PS network
CR 2021 DAY : it will take place on Thursday 14 October, at theAbes premises.
|
GREEN CIRCLE BETWEEN ABES AND BNF: thanks to the metadata sent by BnF for periodicals digitised in Gallica,Abes is able to load them into Bacon and send back a diagnostic file, which is used in return by the ISSN France centre and the Conservation Department. In this way, the two agencies are working to improve the quality of the reporting of digitised periodicals.

ANALYSIS TOOLS FOR PERIODICAL COLLECTIONS: the conference on the analysis tools developed for the Numapresse project, proposed by the CR Occitanie Midi-Pyrénées and Occitanie Livre & Lecture, is available online.

TheAbes supports the international campaign #1Lib1Ref (1 librarian, 1 reference), which returns for the 6th year, from 15 January to 5 February, then from 15 May to 15 June.
The restrictions linked to the recent health crises have demonstrated the importance of open access and the dissemination of knowledge.
The 2021 campaign offers different ways of participating:

The electronic addresses collected are recorded in a computer file by the Agence Bibliographique de l'Enseignement Supérieur (Abes) and are strictly reserved for sending the newsletter "L'actu des réseaux". They are kept for the duration of the subscription and are intended for the agents ofAbes who administer the subscription management file. This information will not be transmitted to any other recipient.
