Electronic resources: a new distance learning offering

In January 2023,Abes is inaugurating an online training course on the reporting and promotion of electronic resources. Over the course of 4 separate sessions (which will be recorded for off-line consultation on theAbes self-training platform), this training will provide a toolbox for all documentation staff involved in the management and/or cataloguing of digital resource collections (excluding academic work). In conjunction with this training, a review of WinIBW cataloging scripts for electronic resources will be carried out in January.

SGB 2022 Day

The SGB 2022 day will take place on Monday December 12, online (it will be recorded for those who are not available on that day). In an exceptionally reduced format (morning), we'll be taking stock of the post-mBMS era, the synchronization of BMSs with Sudoc , and the 2022 market software survey conducted by Tosca Consultants. Site managers have been informed of registration procedures.

Bibliographic transition

The 7th "Metadata in Libraries" professional day, organized by the Systems and Data group of the national Bibliographic Transition program, took place online on November 25. Recordings of the presentations will be available on the transition-bibliographique.fr website. The IFLA-LRM-compliant UNIMARC dataset was presented. It is now available for testing the import of entity records into systems.
The French Unimarc Committee (CfU) is calling on SGB publishers to join the committee, in order to facilitate dialogue on format evolutions and better measure possible impacts on IT systems. Two seats are reserved for them.
