Bibliographic Transition
A year ago, 15 new members joined the national programme's "Training" group and joined the work in progress: writing articles on Wikipedia, redesigning the website's content, preparing new training content. Let's meet the new group!
The "Systems & Data" group is launching a consultation with BMS editors to assess the impact on their systems of the development of RDA-EN and to find out their expectations.

The life of networks

Network IdRef
CANAL-U USES IDREF: the new version of the Canal-U platform uses IdRef to guarantee high-quality indexing and optimal referencing of scientific audiovisual content.
UNIMARC AUTHORITY FORMAT TRANSLATION: work has resumed on the translation of the UNIMARC Authority format fields created since 2009. In January, 11 complete translations were published, identifiable in the online manual by the "new" pictogram.
ENRICHING WIKIDATA WITH IDREF IDENTIFIERS: this is the challenge taken up by Sylvain Machefert, from the SCD of Bordeaux Montaigne University. In his post, he tells how, based on the work done by the Henri Pieron library (first CERCLES project dedicated to authorities), he completes the data of psychologists in Wikidata.

Calames network
REVIEW 2021: a year rich in achievements! A post on the Fil' blogAbes summarises the highlights of the past year, which also outline the trends for the year to come. A second post on the blog Calames gives an overview of the reporting activity and proposes a typology of producing institutions.
TRAINING: the online documentation of Calames was redesigned last September. Professional users are invited to discover the new features of this redesign during an e-course on 10 March.

TRAINING FOR CORRESPONDENTS: a J.e-course will be offered on 17 March to Cataloguing and Authorities Correspondents, to provide them with examples of how to lead and support a team of cataloguers. A message on the mailing lists will open the registration process.
CATALOGUE OF ENGRAVINGS: thanks to our colleague Jocelyn Bouquillard, from the Bibliothèque Sainte-Geneviève, for sharing with the network the document he has produced: "Cataloguing instructions for engravings applied to the BSG reserve".
INDEXATION AND USE OF GEOGRAPHIC SUBDIVISIONS: The National Rameau Centre formalises the removal of the indirect construction of geographical subdivisions. "Palace -- Italy -- Venice (Italy)" becomes "Palace -- Venice (Italy)". In Sudoc, this rule should no longer be applied.

Sudoc PS network
ACTIVITY REPORT: the annual activity report of the centres in the Sudoc-PS network is expected byAbes by 31 March 2022. It is a prerequisite for the payment of the subsidy provided for in the 2021-2023 agreement. Centre managers can consult a document to help them draft the report.
CR 2022 DAY: for the first time, the annual meeting of the CR managers is integrated into the Days Abes, as the whole of the second day will highlight the network organised around Sudoc-PS and, more generally, all the issues related to continuous resources.
ISSN NUMBERING REQUEST WORKFORCE: the Continuous Resources Department ofAbes is starting this month an ISSN numbering request work for a corpus of 700 foreign open access electronic journals, listed in Mir@bel.
SUPPORTING DOCUMENTSFOR APPLICATIONS IN CIDEMIS: the user manual of the application Cidemis has been updated with regard to the nature and contents of the supporting documents that must be attached to an ISSN application.

REPORTING OF MEMORIALS IN DUMAS: the input form in DUMAS now integrates the PPN number as a"content provider", which allows the automatic retrieval, in this form, of the metadata already entered in the Sudoc. The coordinators Sudoc, Cataloguing Correspondents and Correspondents Star have been informed of this.
STEP TRAINING: A distance learning session on the STEP application is proposed on 8 March.

Start of work atAbes of a "Quality / LRM corrections" team
Since December 2021,Abes has set up a team dedicated to improving the quality of Sudoc data with a view to their "LRMisation", i.e. their migration in the medium term to a structure compatible with the IFLA-LRM model and the RDA-FR cataloguing code. This work is part of the continuation of the "Sudoc-FRBR" experiment conducted from 2014 to 2021.
