Thesis Coordinator


Within the framework of the national thesis reporting system, each institution authorised to award doctoral degrees is responsible for appointing a Thesis Coordinator, a contact person with an overall view of the thesis circuit in his/her institution.

The missions of the Thesis Coordinator are detailed in the professional literature provided by the Abes. Its role is formalized by a function sheetThis is the first step in the process of developing a new system for the management of the institutions, which provides the managers of the institutions with the information needed to integrate this function into the organisation charts and job descriptions of the staff concerned.

STAR Correspondent


Each institution authorised to award doctoral degrees appoints one to two STAR Correspondent(s), who will be the contact person(s)Abes for the use of the national STAR application - reporting and archiving of theses in electronic format. Depending on the institution, he works in a school service, a doctoral school, a laboratory or can be attached to the Common Service of Documentation.

The STAR Correspondent may be required to pilot the implementation of work environments during the deployment phase of the STAR application in his establishment.

The role of the STAR Correspondent is formalized in a function sheetThis provides the heads of the institutions with the information they need to integrate these functions into the organisation charts and job descriptions of the staff concerned.

The missions of the STAR Correspondent, as well as the functionalities of the application, are detailed in the professional literature provided by Abes.

Training and communication

One Training is proposed to STAR Correspondents who commit to transmit the acquired know-how to the persons of their institution involved in the thesis reporting circuit.

STEP Correspondent


Designated by the Thesis Coordinator of his institution, the STEP Correspondent is the interlocutor of the STEPAbes for the reporting of theses in preparation. Depending on the institution, he works in a school service, a doctoral school, a laboratory or can be attached to the Common Service of Documentation.

The tasks of the STEP Correspondent, as well as the functionalities of the STEP application, are detailed in the professional literature provided by the Abes. Its role is formalized by a function sheetThis provides the heads of the institutions with the information they need to integrate these functions into the organisation charts and job descriptions of the staff concerned.

 

Training and communication

One distance learning is offered to STEP Correspondents, who commit to provide training and assistance to the staff of their institution involved in the application, as well as first-level assistance.
