To be noted: In accordance with the regulations in force, the institutions entitled to award the doctoral degree have professional reporting applications whose use is compulsory and free of charge.

Integrating the STAR network - Thesis Reporting and Archiving


Establishments newly accredited to award doctoral degrees are invited to send a letter toAbes , signed by the establishment's President or Director and accompanied by a copy of the accreditation order received from the MESR, the accreditation period and the list of doctoral schools concerned. The letter should specify

  • the date of qualification to deliver the doctorate
  • the name and contact details of the Thesis Coordinator and the STAR Correspondentappointed to fulfil these functions within the institution

Upon receipt of the integration request, the deployment phase in the STAR network begins. This includes the following steps:

  • signature of the Declaration on the national system of deposit, reporting, dissemination and conservation of doctoral theses
  • STAR Correspondent training
  • creating and setting up the working environment in STAR
  • login credentials assignment
  • application testing
  • production run

Note: If the applicant institution is the result of a merger, split or grouping of institutions,Abes will assist with the migration and curation of data to the institution's new working environment.

 

Integrate the STEP network - Reporting of Theses in Preparation


Institutions entitled to award the doctoral degree have the possibility of reporting theses in preparation with the national professional application STEP. This approach, although optional, is strongly recommended as it enhances the visibility of ongoing doctoral research, as the subjects of theses in preparation are accessible from theses.fr, the French doctoral research engine.

To join the STEP network, institutions are invited to send their application toAbes by letter signed by the Presidency or the Directorate of the institution . As member institutions of the STAR network, it is not necessary to provide the administrative documents justifying the authorisation to award a doctorate. However, this letter mentions the name and contact details of the STEP correspondent designated by the institution.

  • production run
